Speak! Language Center

Hours: Speak! is open for classes and events, and by appointment. We are normally open weekday mornings 9am-2:30pm, evenings from 5:30-8pm and on weekends for special classes and events.

Speak! is located in the BACK of the Glass Building, behind the X Lounge, Bluegrass Grill, Bittersweet. To get to Speak! from the front of the building, go around Downtown Family Health Care or turn left onto Garret Street. We share a parking lot with Downtown Family Medicine, Redd and III.

Speak Language Center provided me with a hands-on immersion learning experience that couldn’t have come at a better time. I enrolled in the 40-hr Spanish immersion class to supplement some self-study I was doing to pass the Spanish CLEP exam. I had 4 wks to learn 4 semesters of Spanish! The daily interaction and small intimate class size was the perfect combination to get me comfortable speaking what I was learning. Three days after finishing the course, I passed my exam, and a week after that was nominated to a Latin American post with the Peace Corps!
