Over the past decade, I have spent many hours wandering the streets, markets, sites, churches, and countryside of Italy — in Rome, the Hill Towns of Tuscany and Umbria, and Milan. I am attracted to the many aspects of Italy — vistas and architecture, visions of religious life often contrasted with today’s secular modernity, people at work and play, and the color, shapes, and arrangements of life’s day-to-day objects or activities.
