Learn Chinese from a native speaker! Our approach focuses on conversational Mandarin but will also teach pin-yin and basic characters. Beginner’s course is ideal for either total beginners or those who wish to refresh previous studies. Advanced beginners should already possess some basic speaking ability in Mandarin.

I graduated from UVa in May and will be living and working in China starting in September. I’d love to attend the free conversation on Saturday mornings. I might not be able to make it tomorrow, but will try, and definitely plan on next week. I have taken Chinese for a number of years, but I am rusty because I haven’t taken it formally in 1.5 years.
