Spanish Courses and Workshops

It’s a fact: conversational ability in Spanish is becoming increasingly useful in the U.S. At Speak!, we offer a broad and varied curriculum that includes short term immersion courses, workshops and longer-term courses for all levels, beginners through advanced. In addition to our on-site courses for individuals, we can also organize a class for your group, business or academic institution.

Italian Courses and Workshops

Since Speak! began in 2004 as Ecco Italy, our Italian program is in many ways the inspiration for much of what we do at the Language Center. In addition to our many courses for students of all levels – beginners and travelers through advanced – at Speak!, we also offer Italian Language and Culture immersion experiences in Italy.

French Courses and Workshops

Led by the wonderful Anne Arlet, native of Paris and resident of Montreal for 15 years, Speak!‘s French program is varied and inspired. Charlottesville’s strong Francophile/Francophone community, nurtured in part by our Sister City relationship with Besancon, France, certainly help nurture the celebration of French language and culture at Speak!

Other Languages

As Speak! continues to evolve into a full-service Language Center, we are working hard on adding new languages to the Romance mix. We’ve had Russian since last fall and are adding Mandarin and Japanese starting summer 2010. If we don’t offer a group lesson for a specific language, we will do what we can to put those interested in touch with a local teacher or resource.

Speak! Kids

A true cultural center for the globally-minded family, Speak! offers many language classes and cultural events geared towards kids from 4-15. In addition to our summer camps and on-site classes at Speak! we can also bring our educational show on the road through our Speak! at School after-school enrichment program. Speak! also makes an ideal celebration space for themed birthdays!
