Theme:  Germany: featuring cross cultural vignettes to improve your international business relation skills. Bring your German beer steins and wear your dirndl  (ladies) or lederhosen (men), if you’d like!

Costs:  CBIC and Chamber of Commerce Members $20; Non-Members $30 (early bird rates; higher fees for day-of-event registration)

In case you missed our popular Italian debut event of this Passport Series in August, you’re still in time to hop aboard the second networking event of the season! CBIC and SPEAK! Language Center have, once again, partnered to bring the world to Charlottesville’s innovative tech and entrepreneurial crowd – a “staycation” of sorts for the with food, wine, music, travel-related tips and trivia and prizes all while mingling with a globally-savvy professional networking crowd! In addition to enjoying German food from Chef  Jerome Thalwitz of the Bavarian Chef and a variety of German beers and (Austrian) wines from the Market Street Wine Shop, participants will learn about the German business culture from executives and innovators who have lived and worked in Germany, and who speak the language fluently.

During a short cross cultural vignette, experts will provide valuable insights including dos and don’ts and other tips when working with Germans, some of which might even shatter a few possible stereotypes. Whether you do business in Germany now, or may in the future, or your work is stateside with German clients, or you have German members on your team, you will learn something to advance your international relation skills!

Also, guests who attended the first event received a “passport” (bring your passport with you to receive your next stamp!). Those who attend all 3 in the series will be entered into a special drawing for a grand prize; a $250 WishWishUSA experience of your choice…for example a balloon ride, fly fishing trip, gourmet dinner at home…so many choices! Guests who attend any of the 3 Passport Series events will be entered into a drawing for a $50 WishWishUSA  experience of your choice like Play On! Theater tickets, wine tasting, dancing lessons, etc.
