Cassandra O’Mahoney is a doctoral student in Spanish at the University of Virginia. She has dedicated her studies to teaching and learning Spanish languages, literatures, and cultures. After graduating Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Education, Cassandra moved to Madrid, Spain, where she lived for two years while pursuing a Masters degree in Spanish at Saint Louis University’s Madrid campus. She has experience teaching Spanish and English at a variety of age and ability levels both at home and abroad, and mostly loves sharing her passion for all things Spain with her curious students. At UVa, she has gained extensive foreign language teaching experience at the Intermediate and Advanced-Intermediate levels, and is continuously seeking new opportunities to grow as a language instructor. When not teaching and learning, Cassandra is an enthusiastic traveller – she loves exploring new languages, foods, music, cultures and people around the world!
