Jen Burstein attended the University of Virginia on the President’s Fellowship, earning her Masters in French from in 2011. She served as a Lecturer of English at the Université de Provence in Aix en Provence, France and returned to UVa as an adjunct professor in 2012. Following her return from France, Jen used her language skills in the financial sector as part of the international team for Standard & Poor’s Capital IQ. Following her passion for teaching, Jen left S&P to join the language faculty of Tandem Friends School here in Charlottesville and now serves as the program coordinator and lead teacher for French. She has offered various levels of French at Speak! including Intensive Beginner courses for adults, private lessons for children, and Summer French 1 for high-school students. When she is not teaching or learning new languages, Jen loves to travel, sing jazz, go hiking, and cook international cuisine.
