Ricardo is a native English and Spanish speaker of Peruvian and Mexican descent from Los Angeles, California. He studied Spanish and Italian with a Special Field in French at UCLA. At the graduate level, Ricardo earned a master’s degree in Spanish at Duke University and a Ph.D. in Spanish at UNC-Chapel Hill. He has taught ESL at all levels, from Pre-K to adults, in South Korea and the U.S. He has also taught high school and college Spanish. Currently, he teaches Spanish at UVa and grades Spanish AP exams in the summer. In his free time, Ricardo enjoys photography, salsa dancing and watching all the movies he missed while in grad school.
