Victoria hails from Maracaibo, Venezuela and grew up speaking both English and Spanish at home. Due to her parents being from two different countries (United States and Venezuela), she has always felt a part of two worlds. Her teaching philosophy is that true language acquisition can only happen when the student lives the language by being immersed in it in a meaningful and contextualized way. She also finds that being playful and creative with language is how one best grows as a language learner. She obtained her Bachelor’s in Hispanic Studies with a license in teaching Spanish 6-12 from the University of Houston, and is currently working on her Master’s in Applied Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, writing, painting, dancing, and doing Karate at Superkicks.
