Jaime Kurtz, Ph.D
Jaime Kurtz is an associate professor of psychology at James Madison University, where she researches and teaches about happiness, savoring, and positive psychology. She is the author of The Happy Traveler: Unpacking the Secrets of Better Vacations, which will be published in June of 2017. Jaime is also the creator and director of the JMU study abroad course, “Exploring the Good Life in Scandinavia,” and has led tours of Sweden and Denmark for the past two summers. If she’s not teaching, writing or planning her next travel adventure, Jaime might be found singing in a musical theater production or on the trail, running to her heart’s content.
Christina Ball, Ph.D
Christina Ball is the owner and director of Speak! Language Center, a 12 year-old foreign language and ESL center based in Charlottesville, VA. An avid traveler, she has lead numerous, rewarding trips to Umbria for lovers of Italian language and culture. A Fulbright Scholar to Italy, Christina holds a Ph.D. in Italian Literature from Yale University. She has also written for many publications, usually about food and culture, and is a certified Foodie.
